4/19/21 4-H memo

Good Morning!

          NEW:

  • National Volunteer Week April 18th-24th. Please take some time to thank all of our wonderful volunteers!! We wouldn’t have this program without them. Check at Jackson County Extension Facebook and Jackson County 4-H Instagram for volunteer posts!!
  • MQA Training- May 6th @ 6:00 pm. This is for all 1st year Junior members, 1st year Senior members or anyone who is in their 1st year of 4-H showing livestock.
  • Shooting Sports Organizational meeting- May 11th @ 6:00 pm at the Wattenberg Center. 4-H member and at least one parent must attend the meeting.
  • County Retreat- May 14th from 10:00 am-3:00 pm. Registration forms will go out later this week.
  • State Fair Nominations: If you plan to attend State Fair please let me know so I can get you nomination forms. They will be due to me at Weigh-in on June 5th. Sheep, goats and swine will be able to request DNA envelopes on June 1st. If you have questions please contact me.
  • Swine, Lamb & Goat weigh-in June 5th, 8:00 am at the Scale House. If you know you will not be here for this date, please let me know ASAP.
  • Make sure you are working on your record books!! If you need a printed copy, please let me know and I will get one for you. Remember shooting sports kids are required to complete record books also! They can be found at 4-H E-Records – Jackson County Extension (colostate.edu) .
  • Project drop deadline- June 1st. If you sign up for a project and then do not plan to complete the project, you will need to drop the project by June 1st.

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • MQA Training- May 6th at 6:00pm at the Wattenberg Center.

  • NWCO Expo June 7th, 8th, 9th in Craig, CO- I sent an email on April 8th with the registration info. Registration will close on April 30th.
  • Jackpot- June 19th, 2021

REMINDERS:
Council Requirements:
              * Attend 4 council meetings. Meetings will be in June and August.
              * Participate in 1 council community service project
             * Participate in 1 council fundraiser
             * Clean the SCD Basement once per year
             * Complete and turn in a Record Book for all projects enrolled in
